Best Jack Solution for the Ford Transit Vans

There are questions about how to safely jack the Ford Transit Vans. The owner’s manual is not very clear about this.  The best and safest way is by using a six-ton hydraulic bottle jack and a 3-inch ram extension topped with a jack pad that securely connects for the jack points. The forward jack points are a round bar or tube welded between two brackets. These may also be found toward the rear, forward of the axle. More commonly, the rear jack point is the rear axle under the spring shackles or against the spring next to the axle tube.

Fortunately, SAFE JACK has complete kits for the Transit Fan that include the jack, ram extension and jack pads for the forward and rear jack points that make it nearly impossible to have a jack slip off the jack point. SAFE JACK also makes vehicle specific jack kits for other vans including the Dodge ProMaster and the Sprinter Van. Several conversion van companies use Safe Jack products as the standard jack for their conversions.
