stuck oil filter removed with ease !

I had an oil filter that some clown shoe installed way too tight. It was the tightest oil filter I ever tried to remove, in my 17+ years as a professional auto tech. The filter canister (body) was totally destroyed attempting to remove the filter. All that was left was the round inner ring that threads to the engine. The holes in the oil filter ring were a little small, so I carefully drilled them out, just slightly bigger so the bolts on the Talon oil filter tool would engage them. I slid the 3 prong tool onto the filter ring holes, put a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter on the tool, with a 1/2" long handle ratchet installed. I leaned into the ratchet and the oil filter ring started turning like it wasn't even stuck! The Talon oil filter removal tool in AMAZING! I suggest you in now, before you need it!

Works good

It can be a little tedious to get the holes lined up, so just be patient and take your time to get them lined up and installed. The tool is definitely strong as I used a long ratcheting breaker bar to get loose. I really appreciate that there is no chance of damaging the sealing surface like you would have if you used an air hammer.

LIFESAVER

so glad i found this tool from someone's online review! i accidentally crushed my filter on my ’67 oldsmobile using a traditional strap wrench. i tried every method to remove it, including punching through it with a screwdriver — nothing worked and the base of my old filter was still ‘welded’ to my engine. i received my talon tool and with a little modification, was able to remove the old filter! very happy it worked!
